Comic #11 - Okay

Panel 1

Following on from the last comic, Camomile is chasing the seagull down a street, arms outstretched attempting to grab it. She is still wearing the barber’s sheet from the hair salon, and still has the hairbrushes stuck in her hair. The two are running past a brick building with a sign above the entrance saying Infusion Publishing.

Panel 2

Inside the building, Joslyn, the journalist Camomile spoke to recently, is sitting at a desk and turns to look out of the open window next to her in confusion at Camomile and the seagull running down the street.

Panel 3

She moves to the window, resting her hands on the windowsill, and says “Camomile?”

Panel 4

From Joslyn’s perspective, Camomile and the seagull are still running but both turn their heads with stupified expressions towards Joslyn.

Panel 5

The two stop and look at each other with the same blank expression.

Panel 6

Camomile turns fully towards Joslyn as the seagull continues to also remain stationary. Camomile says “Okay, I just want to say, this isn’t what it looks like.”

Panel 7

Camomile gestures to the seagull, still standing with the stone in their beak. Camomile says “That’s my son.”

Panel 8

Joslyn looks confused and says “The seagull?”

Panel 9

Camomile looks annoyed and says “What!? Don’t be ridiculous!”

Panel 10

Camomile dramatically points towards the seagull and says “The rock! The rock is my son!” Joslyn at the window just says “Uhh…”

Comic #12 - Withdrew

Panel 1

We see Brianna and Camomile in Camomile’s bedroom. Brianna is kneeling on the bed, blow-drying Camomile’s hair, who is sat on the edge of the bed with wet hair and a towel draped around her shoulders. Various hair product bottles, a comb, scissors, and the two hairbrushes that were previously stuck in Camomile’s hair are resting on the bed next to them. Brianna says “So, that’s that then? They withdrew the invitation for the photoshoot?”

Panel 2

Camomile has a disappointed look on her face as she says “Yeah, but I don’t really blame them. I did kinda… yell like a crazy lady in the heat of the moment.”

Panel 3

Brianna finishes blow-drying Camomile’s hair and puts the hair-dryer down. Camomile looks to the side, even more dejectedly than before and quietly says “I’m actually slightly more bitter about not managing to get my pet rock back.”

Panel 4

Camomile stands up and puts her hands on her hips and smiles, as a bright glow radiates around her, and she says “Ah well, nothing worth having in life comes easy, right!?”

Panel 5

Camomile retains her triumphant pose and glow as Brianna, still sat on the bed looks up at her with an unimpressed look on her face, and simply mutters “Mmm.”

Panel 6

Brianna looks to the side with a dejected look and says “I feel like I can’t even do easy things and I hate that expression.” Camomile has sat back down on the bed and is leaning forward, looking down at the floor with a frown, elbows resting on her legs and head resting on her hands as she replies “Yeah same.”

Comic #13 - Tea

Panel 1

Camomile is sat on her sofa at home, reading a book. She looks up from her book and says “I need a tea.”

Panel 2

Camomile is in her kitchen with an open metal tin of teabags and a spoon resting on the counter in front of her, as she pours steaming water from an electric kettle into a black mug.

Panel 3

As she finishes pouring, she looks to the side.

Panel 4

The view shows a blug mug nearby, filled with cold tea, a tea bag poking out of the top of it. Camomile says “Wait, when did I make that one?”

Panel 5

Camomile is sitting back down on the sofa with the black mug and a sheepish smile on her face as she says “Gosh, always making teas and forgetting about them. I really need to pay more attention.”

Panel 6

She leans across to a side table next to the sofa to put her mug down, where it clinks into yet a yellow mug filled with cold tea that is already there.

Panel 7

She stares at this third mug for a moment.

Panel 8

She looks exasperated and gestures towards the yellow mug, yelling “When did I make this one!?”

Comic #14 - Same

Panel 1

We see Sammiches, the sandwich restaurant. In the foreground is the service counter, where Vienna is handing a bag of food to a customer, a young woman with dark casual clothing and shoulder length white hair. Camomile is sat at a table in the background, eating a sandwich and watching what is happening. Vienna says “Thank you, enjoy your meal.” The customer replies “And the same to you.”

Panel 2

Camomile, still watching and about to take a bite of her sandwich, thinks to herself “Huh, guess people really do say that by accident pretty often.”

Panel 3

Camomile has stopped eating her sandwich to stare with a look of serious disbelief on her face, as Vienna says “I know what you’re thinking right now. It happens all the time so please, let me alleviate your paranoia for you.” Camomile’s thoughts overlap the end of Vienna’s speech as she thinks “Wait, is she really?”

Panel 4

Vienna says with a stern expression “Yes, you are an idiot and yes you should never eat here again.”

Panel 5

Camomile closes her eyes and smiles as she prepares to take a bite out of her sandwich after all as she thinks “Wow, she really says that to every customer huh… Makes me feel better about”

Panel 6

Camomile is cut-off mid-thought as Vienna points towards her with an amused expression on her face. As the customer turns to look with a concerned expression, Vienna says “Not nearly as much of an idiot as that girl though, told her the same last week and she still comes in.” Camomile has stood up suddenly and looks angry as she yells “Hey!”

Comic #15 - Hot

Panel 1

We see Camomile standing at the entrance to Brianna’s café, The Cubby, holding both sides of the door frame with a weary expression on her face. She says “Ugh… why is it so hot?”

Panel 2

Brianna is standing behind the counter in a more summer-inclined outfit than usual, a white cropped tank top, black shorts, and her hair in a ponytail. She says “Well you do insist on not tying your hair up, as well as wearing a hat, a cropped sweater and… whatever that tstupid, presumably unbreathable, shiny material tank top underneath is.”

Panel 3

Camomile gestures to her outfit and says “Hey I needed to establish a brand over here! Like, a signature look! This is only the 15th one and I need to make sure I have a recognisable, default style before I begin messing with it and potentially confusing our regular audience!”

Panel 4

Brianna looks confused and says “15th one… regular audience… like… what?”

Panel 5

Camomile looks at her phone and says “Well I make it the 15th of August.”

Panel 6

Camomile continues “And as for our regular audience, I’m talking about, you know, those guys…” Camomile gestures with her thumb towards us as Brianna looks in our direction.

Panel 7

The view rotates so we see what Camomile is actually gesturing at, two old ladies sitting on a long seat together behind one of the tables in the café, with drinks and food in front of them. Brianna says “That old couple who come in here like every day?”

Panel 8

The view shows the two old ladies up close, one is smiling and raising her hand in greeting and says “Please dear, absorbing gossip is so much easier when you don’t involve us in the conversation.” The other old lady, who is sat with her arms folded and a frowning expression says quietly “I still don’t understand, does Brianna run the café or just work here?” The smiling lady quietly responds “I’m sure it’ll come up eventually, be patient.”

Comic #16 - Changed

Panel 1

We’re in The Cubby again. Camomile has changed into more of a summer outfit, wearing a tied-off shirt with a crop-top underneath and some short shorts. She’s tied her hair back into a ponytail and is wiping sweat from her forehead as she stands, other hand on hip, with a stern expression. She says “Okay I changed. It’s still too hot and I demand to see the sun’s manager.”

Panel 2

Brianna is facing away from Camomile, leaning back on the counter while looking up at something in thought, holding a thick marker pen to her chin as Camomile approaches the counter. Brianna says “Yeah I hear you. I actually spent the weekend coming up with some iced fruity drinks to sell. Dunno about the flavour names though, can I get your opinion?” Camomile replies “Oh sure!”

Panel 3

We see the first section of the menu board on the wall that Brianna was looking up at. Brianna has drawn some blueberries, a strawberry, and a raspberry to illustrate the first flavour, named “Very Berry”.

Panel 4

Camomile looks disappointed, saying “Ugh, Very Berry is so overdone, Brie.” Brianna has her arms folded, eyes closed, and is smiling confidently, and says “Read the rest.”

Panel 5

We see the full length of the menu boards, where following the aforementioned “Very Berry” we see the other flavours. Second is “Partially Berry”, illustrated with a lime, a strawberry and an apple. Next is “Not at all Berry”, illustrated with a lemon and a lime. Last is “Berry Adjacent”, illustrated with a pomegranate and a cherry.

Panel 6

Brianna is giving an amused grin as Camomile, with a serious expression, says “Okay never mind they’re inspired.”

Comic #17 - Hey

Panel 1

We’re in The Cubby. Vienna, the person who works at the sandwich shop, approaches the counter with a hand raised in greeting towards Brianna, who is stood behind it. Vienna says “Hey Brie.” Brianna replies “Hey V, how’s tricks?” Vienna says “Same old, was wondering if”, but stops mid-sentence.

Panel 2

Vienna turns to look towards the end of the counter, and Brianna also turns her head in the same direction. At the end of the counter, Chamomile is sat eating a big submarine sandwich, mouth full, with a gormless expression.

Panel 3

Camomile yells with a mouth full of food “You guys are friends!?”

Panel 4

Brianna says “You know Vienna, Cammie?” Camomile, no longer talking with her mouthful, calmly responds “Well, I eat at Sammiches pretty often.”

Panel 5

Vienna is leaning over the counter, resting her arms upon it. Brianna has stepped back to lean towards the counter too, with her arm around Vienna’s shoulder. Brianna says “We actually met outside our workplaces, but bonded over the shared hatred for humanity that doing customer service gifted us with. You might not understand.” Vienna, with an amused smile, says “She’s never worked customer service?” Brianna replies “Nope.”

Panel 6

Brianna and Vienna’s posing has not changed, but Vienna now has a frown.

Panel 7

Vienna has stood back from the counter and has her arms folded. She says “Why are you fraternising with the enemy, Brianna?” Camomile looks dejected as Brianna smiles and waves an arm up dismissively, saying “Shut up, Cammie and I have been friends since infant school.” Vienna replies “I guess that’s a valid excuse.”

Comic #18 - Pool

Panel 1

Following on from the last comic, Vienna continues, saying “Anyway, the reason I came in was that as I’m sure you’re aware it is stupidly hot and I was gonna invite, I guess the two of you now, to go to the swimming pool if you’re free later.” Camomile says “Ooh, I haven’t been swimming in years…”

Panel 2

Brianna looks amused and says “Yeah, do you remember why?” Camomile says “Oh, right.”

Panel 3

In a flashback, we see Camomile dressed in a swimsuit, pulling herself up onto a swimming pool’s exit ladder. The view is pointed up from below her with the pool out of sight. There is an air of grace around her and she has a satisfied look on her face, eyes closed and smiling, as water shakes and drips off of her body and hair.

Panel 4

Two voices come from out of view, shouting “Hey!” and “Come on, what gives!?”, as Camomile turns to look behind her with a now dumb-founded look on her face.

Panel 5

The view zooms out to reveal the source of the voices is two other swimmers, who are standing on the bottom of the pool, the water level barely covering their ankles. They have annoyed expressions, and Camomile is still on the exit ladder, mid-climb, looking back at them.

Panel 6

Camomile, now standing on the side of the pool, looks surprised and says “Oh goodness, sorry!”

Panel 7

Leaning forward slightly, she brings to wring out her long, thick hair, water torrenting down from it out of view.

Panel 8

She is still wringing out her hair, awkwardly looking away slightly.

Panel 9

She is still wringing out her hair, her eyes looking at what she’s doing again.

Panel 10

We return to the previous zoomed-out view of the pool, the swimmers still in the same locations with the same annoyed expressions, but now floating on the surface of the refilled pool. Camomile looks apologetic, shrugging her shoulders, and says “There we go!”

Panel 11

We return to the present, where Camomile is still sitting at the counter in The Cubby, elbows on the table, hands clasped together in front of her face, looking downwards with a serious contemplative expression. She says “That pool was Olympic size too.”

Comic #19 - Wonder

Panel 1

We see the exterior of a fairly large building with a pleasant grassy exterior and one wall with a very large interconnected window, as is typical of public swimming pools. A large sign above the entrance labels it as “Heart Life Leisure Centre”.

Panel 2

Inside, Brianna is wearing a swimsuit and sitting on the edge of the swimming pool, legs dipped in. Vienna is completely in the pool nearby, wearing a swimsuit and goggles, looking up towards Brianna. Brianna says “I wonder what’s taking Cammie so long…”

Panel 3

Brianna looks to the side and says “Oh, there she is!”

Panel 4

Camomile is standing with a stoic pose and expression a small distance away near the pool. She is wearing her swimsuit and a swimming cap, which appears flush to her head with only a modest amount clumping out from behind her head, as if the rest is tucked upwards into the cap. In the foreground, Brianna says “How on earth did you manage to cram all that hair into a swimming cap?”

Panel 5

Camomile shrugs and says “Ah, it wasn’t that hard really.” Her head, speech bubble and dialogue are surrounded by a mist of white powder as she speaks.

Panel 6

Brianna’s expression changes to a slight concern as Camomile rubs her neck and, with the mist of powder present as before, Camomile says “Um, hey, what’s the limit on how much talcum powder a person can safely ingest?”

Comic #20 - Autumn

Panel 1

We’re at The Cubby, and Camomile is walking in, arms raised and a happy expression on her face. She yells “It’s Autumn!” - with Autumn written with several additional N’s at the end as she elongates the word. Quietly, she also says “That was a weird word to elongate.”

Panel 2

Brianna, behind the counter, looks up in thought and says “Well it’s still technically summer and you know, hot out, but it’s the first of September sure.”

Panel 3

Camomile leans against the counter, her body facing away from Brianna but her face looking back in Brianna’s direction. Camomile says “So what pumpkin-themed product are you offering? I think the big chains have dibs on lattés, cakes and soups so you gotta be creative!” Brianna says “Um… nothing, like every year.”

Panel 4

Camomile turns to face Brianna properly and says “Aw, come on, just once, for me!” Brianna crosses her arms and closes her eyes with a slightly bothered expression and says “Okay… the Pumpkin Punch Surprise.” Camomile says “Ooh, what is it?” Brianna says “Anyone who asks for a pumpkin-themed product gets a kick in the face.”

Panel 5

Camomile looks dejected and says “Oh… Okay I get it, geez.”

Panel 6

Camomile, returning to a more neutral expression says “Wait, if it’s a Pumpkin Punch Surprise, why would you kick them in the face?” Brianna, with a silly smile and an outward flourishing of her hands, says “That’s the surprise!”
